Non-thermal Burns

Electrical, chemical and frost damage

Authors: Dr. Mohammad Rasool Harfat Kar, Dr. Iraj Baghi, Dr. Mohammad Reza Mobin

Published: 1392

Numbers: 3000 volumes.

Damage caused by environmental factors such as burns and frostbite are among the major challenges of the health care system. Burn injury may, more than any other type of trauma, cause physical, mental, health, and economic harm to the patient and his or her family.

Although thermal burns are the most common type of burns, electric shocks are also relatively common, especially since in our country, Iran, its prevalence has been increasing since 2001. So that from 2001 to the first 6 months of 1991, more than 7,000 citizens lost their lives due to electric shock. Annually, 5-10% of those admitted to the country's burn hospitals are of the electric type, which is much more than developing and even developed countries.

It seems that the effects and importance of injuries caused by electrical, chemical burns and especially frostbite among aspiring medical learners are not very clear and comprehensive Persian sources that can provide the necessary information about this type of injury in a scientific and thorough approach. There was no authority for medical students and learners. We believe that the collection based on the latest information and scientific achievements of the medical world in relation to this type of injury, can meet the needs of interested medical learners.

Release Date: In print

Numbers:

Accidents are one of the major non-communicable diseases of the present century, and among them, burns are one of the most common and destructive cases of accidents. Burns after traffic accidents, falls and interpersonal violence are the fourth most common causes of injuries in the world. In the last 30 years, mortality after burn injuries has decreased significantly, so that the percentage of damping in some developed countries has reached more than 90% of body surface burns in children, but in the elderly, burns still remain the same. The dilemma remains.

Fortunately, studies have shown that there has been a significant reduction in the total number of burns over the past 10 years, especially among people under 45, which can be due to a variety of reasons, including cultural change, education, and preventive legislation. Therefore, public awareness in the form of books, magazines and educational videos can be very effective in this area. Therefore, the present collection, which was compiled by Ms. Zeinab Haghdoost and Dr. Mohammad Reza Mobin with the support of the Burn Research and Reconstruction Medicine Center of Rasht Hospital, contains brief, useful and practical information about epidemiology, care and treatment. Nutrition, rehabilitation and mental health problems in burn patients.

Nursing care

Authors: Dr. Fatemeh Jafar Aghaei, Mostafa Soodmand, Dr. Mohammad Reza Mobin, Mehrnoosh Khoshtarash Release Date: In print Numbers:

Burns are not just a disease but the beginning of pain and suffering for the individual, family and community. Burn accidents are still a common and fundamental problem in developing countries and Iran. The occurrence of more than 500,000 cases of burns per year with the hospitalization of 30,000 people and the death of nearly 3,000 burn patients annually in our country, shows this fact. Fortunately, today, due to awareness, the incidence and prevalence of this type of injury has decreased dramatically around the world, especially in developed countries. Unfortunately, our resources and textbooks do not provide much education to the public and students. Undoubtedly, observing the basic and basic points in dealing with burn patients and observing the principles of standard and appropriate treatment can reduce the severity and extent of wounds and accidents.

This book, which has been prepared and compiled by the efforts of Dr. Fatemeh Jafar Aghaei and Mr. Mostafa Soodmand and supervised by Dr. Mohammad Reza Mobin, has been able to provide the basic principles and many essential points for awareness and nursing in burn injuries with the right knowledge and appropriate knowledge. We recommend reading this valuable book to all those who are concerned about their health and that of their family, or who are involved in the treatment and care of burn patients.
